Consult your in-game minimap and navigate towards the southwestern quadrant of Kokiri Forest, characterized by a network of passageways. Ascend the slope in this area, where you will find the Forest Training Center adjacent to a fenced enclosure filled with vegetation. Traverse this enclosed space until you reach a wall, where a concealed tunnel awaits. Interact with the tunnel to initiate a crawl through its depths.

Navigating the Labyrinthine Passage to the Sword

Upon emerging from the tunnel, take an immediate right to collect a blue rupee, equivalent to five green rupees. Then, turn back and pause just before the bend in the path. Observe the colossal boulder as it rolls by, and then follow its trajectory. As you proceed, deliberately roll through the surrounding foliage to accumulate additional rupees. Seize the first available right turn to uncover a chest containing the coveted Kokiri Sword.

Equipping Your Newly Found Blade

To ready your new weapon, press the Start button to access the menu. Navigate to the Equipment section by pressing ZL or R. Here are some effective strategies to collect rupees within Kokiri Forest: roll through tall grass for a chance to uncover green rupees; meticulously shatter all breakable objects, including rocks and pots, and slash through plants; follow the ramp located beside Saria's dwelling to discover several bridges leading to a blue rupee; explore the chests within Mido's house for a quick influx of rupees; and investigate the area behind Mido's house to find another blue rupee. Once you have accumulated the necessary funds, return to the shop to acquire the Deku Shield. To equip it, press Start, navigate to the Equipment menu with ZL or R, move the white cursor to the Deku Shield, and press A.
