Filming Commences on 'Your Little Matter': A Deep Dive into Origins and Motherhood

On Wednesday, a new chapter in Italian cinema began as veteran director Daniele Luchetti, celebrated for his work on 'The Ties' which graced the opening of the 2020 Venice Film Festival, initiated filming for his latest feature, 'Your Little Matter' (Italian title: 'Dove Non Mi Hai Portata'). This compelling drama stars the emerging Italian talent, Tecla Insolia, who recently gained recognition as one of the European Shooting Stars at the Berlin Film Festival. Insolia, known for her powerful portrayal in the Sky Original miniseries 'The Art of Joy,' takes on the role of Maria Grazia. The character is a writer driven by an insatiable desire to understand her past, meticulously piecing together the life of her birth mother who abandoned her on a patterned blanket in Rome's serene Villa Borghese Park in 1965. This narrative, adapted from Maria Grazia Calandrone's autobiographical novel, promises a rich tapestry of fragmented memories, veiled secrets, and profound silences, ultimately delving into the universal human need to comprehend one's roots and the multifaceted meaning of motherhood. The film is a collaborative production between Italy's Fandango and Vision Distribution, with Spain's BTeam Prods also joining forces. Both Fandango and Vision Distribution will jointly manage the international distribution rights. The stellar cast also includes acclaimed actors Margherita Buy, Alessandro Preziosi, Marcello Fonte, and Nicola Rignanese, ensuring a captivating ensemble performance. Luchetti's impressive filmography includes significant works such as the third season of the RAI/HBO series 'My Brilliant Friend' and critically acclaimed films like 'My Brother Is an Only Child' and the widely distributed 'Trust' from 2024, further cementing anticipation for 'Your Little Matter.'

This production highlights the enduring human curiosity about our beginnings and the profound impact of parental figures, even in absence. The story serves as a powerful reminder that understanding where we come from is often integral to knowing who we are, resonating deeply with anyone who has ever pondered their personal history.
