Green Day-Inspired Film 'Nimrods' to Premiere at Cannes Market

A new cinematic endeavor, "Nimrods: A Green Day Story," a comedic coming-of-age narrative helmed by writer-director Lee Kirk, is poised to make its debut at the prestigious Cannes market. This feature film draws inspiration from the early experiences of the iconic rock band Green Day, chronicling their adventurous life in a van before achieving mainstream success with their seminal 1994 album, "Dookie." Palisades Park Pictures has secured the international distribution rights for the film, anticipating a global theatrical release in August, with Inaugural Entertainment managing its distribution within the United States.

The film, which previously premiered in Toronto, boasts a talented ensemble cast including Mason Thames, Mckenna Grace, Jenna Fischer, Angela Kinsey, Sean Gunn, Bobby Lee, and Fred Armisen. Adding an authentic touch, the actual members of Green Day—Billie Joe Armstrong, Tré Cool, and Mike Dirnt—also make appearances and contributed to the film's production. "Nimrods" centers on the journey of three high school friends who embark on an exhilarating road trip, fueled by the misconception that their fledgling band has been invited to perform as an opening act for Green Day on New Year's Eve, creating a humorous and heartfelt exploration of youthful ambition.
