Netflix is significantly boosting its children's programming with the announcement of a new competition series based on its highly successful preschool show, "Gabby's Dollhouse." This expansion highlights the streaming giant's strategic focus on captivating younger audiences by introducing innovative formats and enriching its existing popular franchises. Netflix plans to release four holiday-themed episodes of this untitled series later this year, with additional new episodes slated for 2027. Over 100 episodes and specials from the iconic "Sesame Street" collection were made available recently, with another 20 episodes scheduled for release next month. Furthermore, Netflix premiered "Bedtime Stories with Netflix Jr.", a series designed to help young children unwind. This new offering features calming narratives from popular franchises such as "StoryBots," "Trash Truck," "The Creature Cases," "Gabby's Dollhouse," and "Dr. Seuss," previously available as podcasts and on YouTube. Upcoming content for younger viewers includes the third season of "Dr. Seuss's Red Fish, Blue Fish" on August 10 and the second season of "Sheriff Labrador" three weeks later. The Netflix Playground app will also receive new games later in the year, incorporating characters from "PJ Masks: Save the Night," "My Very Hungry Caterpillar," "My Little Pony," "Paw Patrol," "Trash Truck," and "Sesame Street," alongside six new mini-games for "KPop Demon Hunters."
