CBS has officially revealed its programming slate for the 2026-2027 season, featuring a selection of fresh content and strategic scheduling adjustments for its established hits. The network is set to introduce three new series: the drama “NCIS: New York,” a spin-off expanding the popular franchise; “Cupertino,” another new drama focusing on a Silicon Valley legal battle; and the comedy “Eternally Yours.” In a notable decision, two of CBS's current high-performing shows, “Matlock” and “Ghosts,” will be reserved for a midseason debut, a move the network attributes to the overall strength and flexibility of its programming.

The newly unveiled schedule sees "NCIS: New York" securing a Tuesday 9 p.m. slot, positioned between its franchise counterparts, "NCIS" and "NCIS: Origins." Thursdays will feature the new comedy "Eternally Yours" at 8:30 p.m., following "Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage," with the legal drama "Cupertino" airing at 10 p.m. Other programming blocks, including Wednesdays with "Survivor" and "The Amazing Race," and Fridays with "Sheriff Country," "Fire Country," and "Boston Blue," will maintain their current lineups. Sundays will continue with "60 Minutes," "Marshals," and "Tracker." The network also plans to air "Einstein" during midseason, a drama that has been in development for some time and already has episodes produced.

Beyond the regular series, CBS is expanding its special event broadcasts. This includes the MTV Video Music Awards on September 27 and, for the first time, a simulcast of the Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards on November 14. Additionally, "The Price Is Right" will host a live Christmas special in December, alongside the return of "New Year’s Eve Live: Nashville’s Big Bash" and the Golden Globes, hosted by Nikki Glaser, on January 10. These additions reflect CBS's broader strategy to deliver diverse entertainment and engage a wide audience, while also making room for fresh narratives and exploring new frontiers in unscripted content and special presentations.

This forward-thinking approach by CBS, focusing on a robust mix of returning favorites, compelling new narratives, and exciting special events, positions the network for continued success and audience engagement. By strategically leveraging its popular franchises and introducing innovative programming, CBS demonstrates a commitment to evolving with the television landscape and enriching the viewing experience for its diverse audience.
