Immunic Appoints Erik Lundgren as Chief Executive Officer to Lead Multiple Sclerosis Pipeline Development

The company has officially named Erik Lundgren as its new Chief Executive Officer, with his tenure commencing on May 22, 2026. Lundgren, a seasoned professional from Genentech, will assume leadership as Immunic focuses on progressing its key programs. Notably, this includes the pivotal Phase 3 ENSURE study for vidofludimus calcium in relapsing multiple sclerosis, alongside plans for a new Phase 3 trial in primary progressive multiple sclerosis. His leadership will also be crucial in guiding the company through regulatory submissions, approval processes, and ultimately, the commercial launch of its therapies.
Erik Lundgren brings nearly two decades of extensive experience in the biopharmaceutical sector, specializing in commercial strategy, marketing, product launches, and overall portfolio management, particularly within the multiple sclerosis domain. Before joining Immunic, he held the position of Senior Vice President of the Commercial Portfolio Organization at Genentech, a division of Roche Group. His career highlights include leading Roche Czech Republic as general manager and playing a significant role in the successful launch and commercialization of Ocrevus, a prominent treatment for both relapsing and primary progressive forms of multiple sclerosis, as well as contributing to oncology products like Kadcyla and Zelboraf. Daniel Vitt, Ph.D., the outgoing CEO, will continue to contribute to Immunic's scientific vision and portfolio growth as a member of the board of directors.
