Wall of Entertainment and Tubi Collaborate on Two New Comedy Series
Wall of Entertainment, an innovative studio, is set to debut two brand-new comedy series, "Substitute Teacher" and "House Rules," exclusively on Tubi this summer. This collaboration signifies a major expansion for the UK-based studio, marking its initial venture into producing content for the United States market.
Established in 2011 by creative minds Joivan Wade and Percelle Ascott, Wall of Entertainment will also be making available a vast library of over 100 episodes from its diverse programming catalog on Tubi. This extensive collection spans a variety of genres including reality shows, comedic sketches, game shows, dating series, cooking programs, and dramatic narratives. The founders express their vision for this partnership as a crucial step in merging the digital creator space with established entertainment, offering digital personalities significant production resources and the chance to develop their own entertainment franchises, transitioning from social media to a broader audience while retaining creative ownership.
The upcoming series include "Substitute Teacher," premiering on June 25, which is presented as a character-driven comedic game show blending sketch comedy, youth culture, and competitive elements, all set within a high school environment. This show will feature contestants like DangMattSmith and Nia Ivy engaging in trivia and physical challenges to earn the title of class Valedictorian. Following this, "House Rules" will launch on July 16, a game show that pits two couples against each other in various high-stakes domestic challenges, hosted by content creator Laro Benz, exploring who truly governs their household. Joivan Wade and Percelle Ascott are executive producers for both series, with Charles Brockman III and Laro Benz also serving as executive producers for their respective shows, and Wade and Ascott co-directing all episodes.
This pioneering partnership between Wall of Entertainment and Tubi represents a forward-thinking approach to content creation and distribution. It highlights a commitment to nurturing digital talent and providing them with larger platforms, fostering a new era of entertainment that is both engaging and empowering for creators.
